Mariah Carey was born with the name Mariah Angela Carey on March 27, 1970 in Huntington, Long Island, New York, United States. She is the youngest of three children of Alfred Roy Carey, an aeronautical engineer of Afro-Venezuelan descent, and Patricia Carey, an opera singer of Irish descent. Her brother named Morgan Carey and Alison Carey. During her stay in Huntington, Mariah and her family became victims of racist neighbors.
These neighbors allegedly poisoned their dog and set fire to their car. At the age of three years, her parents divorced and Mariah follow her mother. Since then Mariah is almost never met her father, until reunited in 2002 (where her father also died of cancer last year). After the divorce, Mariah's mother had to work at several jobs to support her family. She, too, who taught Mariah singing since the age of three years starting from when Mariah imitating her mother practicing Verdi opera, Rigoletto in Italian.

Mariah Carey and Tommy Mottola were married in 1993. In the same year, the third album, titled Music Box which involves musicians Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds was released and became the most successful album in the world. Singles like "Dreamlover" and "Hero" reached number one on Billboard in the United States and the single "Without You" which is a cover of Badfinger singles occupied the number one in the UK and most countries in the world. Mariah Carey and Tommy Mottola divorced in 1997.
