Taio Cruz (birth name Jacob Taio Cruz, was born on 23 April 1983) is a singer, songwriter, record producer and businessman from the UK. In 2008, he released his debut album Departure which was written, arranged and produced by himself. The album was successful in the United Kingdom and get nominated for MOBO Awards.

On June 2010, Taio Cruz released another album titled Rokstarr. The single "Break Your Heart" and "Dynamite" managed to become number one. On November 2010, Cruz collaborated with Kylie Minogue and Travie McCoy for the single "Higher". Cruz also sang the song "Telling The World" as the lead single from Rio animated movie sound track.
